Olympic gymnastics champion Carlos Yulo will not participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games
In Bangkok, Thailand, due to restrictions imposed by the host country on artistic gymnastics.
Under these rules, male gymnasts are only allowed to compete in one apparatus in individual events.
Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion expressed her support for Yulo’s decision, saying it allows his teammates to gain attention and opportunities this year despite the competition’s limitations.
According to officials, it is better for Yulo to focus on bigger international meets where he can freely compete in all apparatuses.
Meanwhile, fans of the Filipino “Golden Boy” showed their support, saying that Yulo has nothing left to prove in the world of gymnastics.
